250th Independence Day Celebration @ Lake Fairfax Park

Jun 27, 2026 @ 12:00 pm-10:00 pm

Lake Fairfax Park is going bigger than ever for America’s 250th birthday!

On June 27, 2026, the Lake Fairfax 250th Independence Day Celebration arrives with a first-of-its-kind drone light show. See hundreds of synchronized lights illuminate the night sky with bold imagery honoring Fairfax County and American independence.

It’s a sensory-friendly, environmentally friendly, and pet-friendly alternative to traditional fireworks — and a genuinely unforgettable way to mark the occasion.

Make a full day of it! Spread across 476 acres, Lake Fairfax Park is a destination all on its own — with hiking and biking trails, boating, fishing, a skate park, a pump track, athletic fields, and picnic areas to explore before the evening festivities begin. Families can also make a splash at the Water Mine Family Swimmin’ Hole — a Gold Rush-themed waterpark featuring three 3-story waterslides, a 725-foot lazy river, a multi-level interactive water playground, a tot spray pad, and more (admission sold separately).

As the evening kicks off, live music from Reflex (an ’80s headliner), Sonic Boom, and School of Rock will keep the energy going, alongside food trucks, refreshing drinks, and family-friendly entertainment.

Parking passes will be available to purchase in advance (link to come). This is a popular event, so plan ahead and arrive early for the best experience!
