Step back in time to Christmas 1776 for a candlelit guided tour of George Washington’s home.

On select evenings from November 27-December 22, 2026, families can explore the lantern-lit historic area and warm up with complimentary spiced hot cider and ginger cookies while listening to 18th-century music and carols of the season.

Meet the Continental Army soldiers who were at key historic events in 1776, and head to the 12-acre field to greet Aladdin, the Christmas camel. In 1787, George Washington paid 18 shillings to bring Aladdin to Mount Vernon for Christmas.
