On June 27, 2026, What a Blast! will transform Hal & Berni Hanson Regional Park into a celebration of red, white, and blue!
Families are invited to an evening packed with fun — live music, food trucks, games, kids’ activities, and a beer garden hosted by Lost Barrel Brewing. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and settle in for a dazzling fireworks show to cap off the night. Admission is free!
Planning to arrive early and make a full day of it? Most of the park’s attractions will be open that day with limited hours, including:
- Splash Pad
This 10,000-square-foot splash pad is pure summertime fun, with activator spray grounds, a water-squirting spider, water cannons, and a bucket drop. A perfect way to cool off before the evening festivities! - Playground
With net play stations, rock climbers, roller slides, a Global Motion spinner, and fully accessible ramping and surfacing, this sprawling playground has something for kids of every age and ability. Fair warning: they may never want to leave! - Skate Park
Designed by Wally Hollyday — the same designer behind the 2020 Tokyo Olympic skatepark — this 20,000-square-foot lighted facility features half-pipes, quarter-pipes, a volcano, brick-face banks, and a mix of street and transition elements that will impress skaters of all levels.
Please note that the Nature Center will be closed, and athletic fields 1-5 will be unavailable due to the event.
Parking within the park will be available until lots are full, with overflow parking at Hal & Berni Hanson Regional Park’s South Complex, Madison’s Trust Elementary School, Brambleton Middle School, and Independence High School. No street parking is permitted on Evergreen Mills Road, Founders Drive, Creighton Road, or adjacent streets — towing will be enforced. ADA parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis near Championship Plaza.
