Free! Letters From Santa Program

‹‹ More Holiday Fun

Although Santa relies on a lot of magic to fly his sleigh and deliver gifts, he also relies on the United States Postal Service to deliver letters directly to children!

Complete with a North Pole Postmark, the Letters from Santa program through the USPS is a great way to get little ones writing this holiday — and a fun way to celebrate stamps and penmanship, too! Families can follow the steps below and watch the magic of the season unfold (letters should be sent between November 23 and December 1, 2026).

What’s Needed
The child’s letter and Santa’s reply, two different writing utensils, one standard envelope with postage, and one larger envelope with postage.

  1. The child writes a letter to Santa.
  2. A parent or caregiver writes a personalized response to the child’s letter and signs it: From Santa.
  3. Both letters go into an envelope addressed to the child.
  4. The return address on the envelope reads: Santa, North Pole.
  5. Affix a First-Class Mail stamp to the envelope.
  6. The complete envelope goes into a larger envelope, both with appropriate postage, addressed to: North Pole Postmark, Postmaster, 4141 Postmark Dr, Anchorage, AK 99530-9998

Parents can make Santa’s reply extra special by highlighting the child’s accomplishments from the past year — helping around the house, a great report card, or a community service project. It’s a sweet tradition the whole family can enjoy, from parents to grandparents, aunts, uncles, and caregivers! Plus, families can share the experience on social media using #USPSNorthPolePostmark.
