Volunteer Fairfax is excited to host VolunteerFest — an annual, region-wide day of community service held in conjunction with National Make A Difference Day on October 28, 2017!

This annual, family-friendly event brings together hundreds of friends and neighbors on a special day to make the community better! Projects will take place in locations throughout Northern Virginia and vary in scope and size; projects can take place between October 20-29, 2017, in addition to projects on National Make A Difference Day, October 28, 2017.

The day to register will be announced soon. On that day, when you visit you’ll see hundreds of opportunities, including details, locations, times, age requirements, and more.

Volunteer Fairfax offers meaningful volunteer opportunities to a broad range of non-profits in Northern Virginia. Their website allows interested volunteers to choose current needs (have a free weekend?) or do an advanced search of their database for future opportunities. You can even fine-tune your search by choosing the “family-friendly” option to make sure the choices are ideal for kids. There are many possibilities to choose from, which could include an arts and crafts volunteer, animal shelter support, or leaf raking to name a few.
