Blackwater Falls State Park in Davis, WV, boasts this sled run — one that is more than a quarter mile long! More than a groomed hill, the Blackwater Sled Run makes it easy to have fun over and over, too. Enjoy a conveyor belt ride — also called the Magic Carpet — to get back to the top easily. Ride up and sled down — it’s fun both ways!
Located in the Allegheny Mountains, Blackwater Falls State Park is named for the amber waters of Blackwater Falls, a 57-foot waterfall. The park has 20 miles of hiking trails, multiple waterfalls, scenic overlooks, and more.
Make it a fun weekend with a start at the lodge at Blackwater Falls State Park, which offers 54 comfortable rooms with sweeping views of the densely forested gorge below. Built in the 1950s, the mid-century architecture conveys a sense of history and blends in with the natural surroundings. The view of the Blackwater Canyon from the back patio is almost as breathtaking as the park’s famous waterfalls.
