High School Musical, Jr. is a stage adaptation of Disney’s hit movie High School Musical, designed specifically for younger performers. This version retains the core themes and songs of the original film but has been shortened and adapted to be suitable for middle school and junior high school productions.

The musical centers around Troy Bolton, the captain of the high school basketball team, and Gabriella Montez, a shy, intelligent new student who shares a passion for singing. When they audition for the school musical together, they break the unspoken social rules of their high school, challenging the divides between athletes, drama kids, and other cliques.
