Have you been curious about all of the seemingly abandoned buildings on the Workhouse campus? Ever wondered what they were used for when our site was a functioning prison? Wonder no more!

On July 17, 2025, Museum Coordinator Jay Loy leads a campus walking tour and explores the center’s history as a prison site. The tour starts and ends at the Lorton Prison Museum, and participants are invited to view the museum’s exhibitions following the tour – which is open for extended hours during Second Saturday Open House & Art Walks.
