NSO Music for Young Audiences: Musical Tails @ The Kennedy Center

Visit the fantastical land of stories, animals, and music.

From January 24-25, 2026, a National Symphony Orchestra piano quintet will take families on a journey through the timeless tales of the Mother Goose Suite by Maurice Ravel and the magical world of tales from Camille Saint-Saëns’ The Carnival of the Animals. The featured musicians include Jae-Yeon Kim, violin; Andrew Eng, viola; Eugena Chang Riley, cello; Charles Nilles, double bass; and Natalia Kazaryan, piano. The young and young-at-heart are invited to listen and experience these playful stories narrated in English and Spanish and performed through chamber music.

The January 25, 2026, performance at 4 pm is sensory-friendly. Sensory-friendly performances are designed to create a performing arts experience that is welcoming to all families, including those with children with autism or other sensory sensitivities.

Creative Conversation:
Stay after for a Creative Conversation. Following the performance on January 24, 2026, at 1:30 pm, young audience members can ask questions and hear stories from the show’s artists.
