Holiday Boat Parade & Party @ District Wharf

Ahoy, holiday cheer! A flotilla of 60-plus decorated boats glides along the Washington Channel at the 34th annual Holiday Boat Parade & Party at The Wharf on December 5, 2026.
This free DC tradition is one of the area’s favorite ways to welcome the season, with local radio personality Tommy McFly serving as emcee.
The fun continues on land with activities for all ages, including live music, ornament decorating, holiday karaoke, and s’mores at Camp Wharf. Snap a photo in front of the 45-foot illuminated Christmas tree or line up for family photos with Santa. A fireworks salute caps off the evening in grand style.
Here’s how the evening unfolds:
- 5-8 pm: Holiday activities throughout The Wharf, including visits with Santa
- 5 pm: Live music begins on Transit Pier and District Pier
- 7 pm: Decorated boats arrive in the Washington Channel
- 8 pm: Fireworks light up the sky
- 8:15 pm: The celebration continues at the After Party on District Pier
Check out the full lineup of activities, then grab a bite at one of The Wharf’s many restaurants. Dress warmly, since it’s a chilly night by the water.
