Festival of Spring
Each spring, the community is invited to Burnside Farms’ Festival of Spring! Hand-cut flowers, including the iconic daffodil, from more than 5-acres of spring blooms.

Summer of Sunflowers
Then, each summer, Burnside Farms hosts a Summer of Sunflowers! Boasting acres and acres of sunflowers, families are invited to cut their own bouquets — the farm plants more than 30 sunflower varieties to ensure weeks of beautiful visits.

FIELDS OF FLOWERS

Open late spring until the first frost, guests are invited to wander their acres of flower gardens and cut at their leisure. Then, after choosing just the right blooms, Fields of Flowers provides the buckets, scissors, and a workstation to clean your hand-picked bouquet.

SEVEN OAKS LAVENDER FARM

Where: Catlett, VA | About 30-miles from Dulles Airport
When: June 4-July 18, 2021

Seasonally, the community is invited to pick their own lavender and herbs! The farm also offers a little rest from the hustle and bustle of Northern Virginia — they have many spots perfect for a picnic, including a beautiful porch with rocking chairs or under their large shade trees. For kids, there are bunnies to pet and hold and a large playhouse to enjoy.

ROCKY POINT CREAMERY

GREAT COUNTRY FARMS

Great Country Farms has been a family-friendly destination for all kinds of farm fun for decades. This 400-acre working farm offers a community-supported agriculture program in addition to pick-your-own fruit and flowers during their peak season. You’ll find sunflower picking opportunities from mid-July to early August.

HOMESTEAD FARM

Where: Poolesville, MD | About 35-miles from Dulles Airport

Located on 230-acres, Homestead Farm was founded in 1763 and is one of the longest-operating, family-owned farms in Montgomery County. Open Spring through Fall, they have a variety of you-pick fruit and flower opportunities, including Zinnias and Sunflowers.

MESSICK’S FARM MARKET

A fourth-generation family farm located in Fauquier County, Hollin Farms specializes in a wide variety of agricultural products, including grass-fed, natural Angus beef, hay for livestock, and seasonal pick-your-own fruits and vegetables.

At the 100-acre, family-owned Butler’s Orchard, you can enjoy pick-your-own produce opportunities throughout the year. Seasonally they offer blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, apples, and more. Plus, they offer dig-your-own potatoes, pick-your-own herbs and tomatoes, and cut-your-own flowers.

SUMMERS FARM

VALLEY VIEW ACRES

Originally a dairy farm, Valley View Acres is now a crop farm. In 2018, they planted a field of sunflowers as a “trial run.” The response from the community was so encouraging, the concept of the Sunflower Festival was born! Mary’s Land Farm is the proud host to the annual Clarksville Sunflower Festival. This farm, who raises food and animals in a regenerative ecosystem, plants an annual 5-acre patch of sunflowers. THE HOMESTEAD FARM AT FRUIT HILL ORCHARD

The family behind The Homestead Farm at Fruit Hill Orchard are fifth-generation farmers. They grow their food without the use of chemicals and follow organic practices — all of their plants are Heirloom/non-GMO.
