Big Calendar of Fun › LCPS Full-Day Preschool
It’s never too early for families to explore or apply to Loudoun County Public Schools’ (LCPS) high-quality, full-day preschool programs.
Designed with young learners in mind, these programs are completely free for eligible families and offer a strong, supportive start to a child’s educational journey.
Through the LCPS Head Start and Starting Towards Excellence in Preschool (STEP) programs, eligible 4-year-olds are given the opportunity to build a solid foundation for kindergarten success. Led by certified teachers and teaching assistants, classes run Monday through Friday in a nurturing, engaging environment that encourages growth, confidence, and school readiness.
Families must live in Loudoun County, VA, and have a child who will be 4 by September 30 (or 3 in some areas of Sterling).
Your family may qualify if you meet any of the following criteria:
- Your family meets income guidelines or receives public assistance (TANF, SSI, SNAP), or
- Your child is in foster care, or
- Your family is experiencing homelessness under the McKinney-Vento Act, or
- Both parents did not graduate high school, or
- Your child has an IEP (Individualized Education Program)
LCPS staff are available to help guide families through the process. For assistance, call (571) 252-2110.
